Julia & Garrett- Odessa, TX
June 27th, 2010 | Weddings
I think the whole city of Odessa showed up for Julia & Garrett’s nuptials. This group confirmed by belief that West Texas people are some of the nicest on the planet. They take you in and make you feel like you’re part of the family.
This wedding was officially the hottest wedding I’ve ever photographed. I checked the weather the day before we left and my iphone said it was going to be 110 degrees. I thought it had to be a typo. I checked 3 other sources and yep, it was going to be 110. I’ve had some bridal party fainters recently so I was worried about the bridal party getting overheated before the ceremony. We had to stick to the shade which is a little hard to come by in Odessa. After we did the groomsmen shots Garrett got back in his car and his car said it was 134 degrees outside. Wow. That is HOT.
Everyone survived the heat and both the ceremony and reception were beautiful. The dance floor was packed all night! What a fun group. ![]()

Beautiful pictures! Beautiful bride
Candace Bridals

I was so looking forward to Candace’s bridal session. We had a list of locations and a list of props. Her parents had to rent a car just to fit all her props in! Candace is so creative and puts so much thought into everything. She also can’t take a bad picture. Her wedding was last Saturday at Barr Mansion. It was the second wedding at Barr Mansion after lighting burned the artisan ballroom down. Everything turned out beautifully.
This was the literally the first picture I took. I was making sure my flash was firing so I wasn’t even paying attention to what I was taking a picture of. You know you’re going to have a good session when you start with an “accident” shot like this one. I just love it.
Amazing shots, beautiful bride.
